Katherine Gould grew up in Texarkana, AR and received a BA in Fine Art from Randolph Macon Woman's College in Lynchberg, VA. After living in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Las Vegas she moved to Phoenix in 1996. Her passion for real estate and design was implemented on numerous residential remodeling projects. A brief move to Chapel Hill, NC (to open a family retail store specializing in fine gift and garden accessories) introduced her to the art/science of Feng Shui. Since Katherine has been back in the valley, she has been certified in Western (BSTB) Feng Shui and Classical Feng Shui under Master Denise Liotta-Dennis, of Houston,TX. Her great understanding of this esoteric practice offers her clients the ability to enhance their environment aesthetically and energetically. Katherine has the unique ability to create floor plans that work for each individual with specific formulae related to location and direction of buildings and important doors, kitchen, master bedroom and bathroom location (or office and desk placement). The formation of Golden Fortune with partner, Jessica, has created a one-of-a-kind design studio dedicated to the happiness and well-being of their clients. Jessica Avignone grew up in Laconia, NH and moved out west to attend Arizona State University's college of Architecture and Environmental Design. She graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree in Interior Design in 2002, and decided the quickly developing urban cityscape of Phoenix would be her permanent home. She began working for a design firm in North Scottsdale focusing on commercial office, retail & medical interiors. In the 4 years she worked at the firm, Jessica was able to hone her skills of resourcefulness and ingenuity in the often stark, rigid, and squeamishly tight budgeted world of commercial office design. She quickly learned how to use inexpensive and readily available materials in unique and unexpected ways to create functional and beautiful spaces her clients loved to work in, and more importantly, could afford to build. She learned quickly and grew with the company, starting out as a design assistant, and in 2007, passing on her title of Commercial Tenant Improvement and Interiors Division Manager. Shortly after she began working independently, Jessica teamed up with Katherine Gould and the design team began capitalizing on their unique skills, giving them the ability to reach a more diverse client base and work on an unlimited project scope. Three years after the owners began their first furniture design project, Golden Fortune Interiors is involved with projects of all types, including restaurants, commercial office, residential interiors, and custom furniture design and fabrication.
